YPS loves Michigan, and we are coming back for our fourth summer to hold a program on Great Lakes Water Resources at Aquinas College. This residential program is open to high school students from around the country who are interested in learning about the incredible largest freshwater lakes on Earth. Despite the fact that seventy percent of the Earth is covered by water, approximately one percent of this is usable by humans as freshwater. This small amount of water is used for a range of things related to our daily lives, including drinking, bathing, growing our food and crops, supporting fish and wildlife, recreation and tourism, as well as our manufacturing, industry and more. Students in this program will examine the many competing demands for Great Lakes waters and create sustainable solutions for the future health and vitality of this precious natural resource.

Students will live in dorms at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, with YPS staff and student Resident Advisors providing supervision and program activities. Students will leave this Summit with creative ideas for the sustainable future of our Great Lakes, as well as first hand experience of what it's be like to be an Aquinas College student.
